Happy Tuesday all,
I picked up a PRC-1099A at local radio swapfest Saturday which I have been having fun playing with
The BNC out antenna connector is independent of the internal antenna tuner
This PRC-1099A page - https://www.greenradio.de/htm2/e_prc1099.htm <https://www.greenradio.de/htm2/e_prc1099.htm>
says:
The automatic antenna tuning tunes the 3m- collapsible antenna connected to the antenna base, or (with an adapter) a wire antenna; over the full frequency range of 1.6 to 30 MHz; the ATU does not tune the BNC- connector.

I thought I read elsewhere (can’t find again at the moment, pdf not searchable :-) another inference that seemed to say if a stub is made the internal tuner can be tricked to also work with the BNC port…?
If true how to make such a stub?
Tnx and all the best,
brian
