Another wild idea...  I once "repaired" such a contact with a button of 
solder.  It worked, but not the best.

How about this?  Can the part be removed from the holder?  Sand it down 
enough to get off the cruddy plating, maybe remove another 1-2 1,000ths. 
  Then, tin the part with a high quality silver bearing hard solder. 
Just tin it, then sand it lightly in a circular fashion with some very 
fine paper.  I have papers it to 9-10 thousand grit bought from Home 
Depot, you may be able to get a near optical quality polish on the 
tinning.

I'm guessing it could be as good a re-plating, if not better.  I haven't 
done this specific action on this exact type of part, but I've done all 
the parts in pieces on other things, so the idea should work.
