My 1935 HRO Senior is a favorite receiver.
If you're having trouble with the BFO On-Off switch,

Attached to the end of the BFO variable cap is an
actuator arm with a pin sticking out of it. This pin
operates the BFO rocker switch:

Over time, the pin will bend slightly- like a millimeter- toward
the center of the cap. This will cause it to disengage from the
rocker switch prematurely, leaving it not quite completely actuated.
Once you rotate it back towards "OFF," the rocker will stay there with
no way to re-engage from outside.
Very carefully, very gently, bend the pin back down (away from the
center of the cap) about a millimeter or two and it will engage
reliably. Be careful, because if you break off this pin, you will be
very unhappy.
