A generic search of:

LED metal indicator pilot

Will bring up many thousands of hits of wired LEDs in metal housings of 
various sizes, colors, and voltages.  I even saw some of those tiny 
oddball LEDs that look like small knurled nuts that were used on the 
panels of modems in the 60's, and 70's, so now I know what to look for 
in those!
