Dave S. et all: there ARE categories that held value, hold their value, and actually increase in value.
The people who in the competition for such equipment are not necessarily technically adept people
either; they're more likely to be concerned with display value. Recall the recent incident I mentioned,
where I sold a radio on Ebay, thought the money was "okay", and then saw it resold on a online
"militaria store" for over double the money.
Also, take that as an advisory when you have something to sell and it's not something that regularly
shows up on Ebay, i.e. for which there's no continuing supply, but a continuing demand.
Brian Harrison recently pointed out to me a pair of radios that sold Ebay for about $7000 the pair.
Now they're offered again on Ebay, but this time "BIN" or offer, at around $30,000. We shall see if that
play works.
