That is not a response I wanted to encourage.
Your little meter probably only has radium on the pointer only.
Behind glass, there is NO practical hazard to you.  
The E.R. article, which I have "somewhere" only suggested care in cleaning
and not having it  permanently residing right on your desk. 
Before you ditch the meter, I would buy it from you. There are numerous 
radios or test sets out there missing some meter, and most often there's no
available U.S. manufacture one that will fit. -Hue Miller

Thank You very much for your post. I have a small Japanese mA meter that I've had for about 10 years. It looks like it came from WWII and it no doubt had radium paint on it's face. I've had it on a shelf just about me in the den. After checking out some web pages regarding radium dials, I took it out to the garage and will probably toss it into the trash. Those dials are somewhat dangerous.
