Me either. Maybe the original owner had some plan for it.
I have a complete DY-88 unit here. Even the vibrator still works fine. I fire it up once in awhile
simply to listen to it. To me, it sounds very musically beautiful. Somewhat like the note A of a
bagpipe. Gorgeous.
I plan to adapt it via some sort of interface box to use it with my AN/GRC-109.
Which reminds me: I should put the '109 back on the air. I used it for some time and worked
35 countries, mostly on 40 meters, with it and an end-fed wire. Crystal control was far less of
a problem than I had at first thought it might be. And its 15 watts didn't seem to make it
particularly difficult to work those DX stations with either.
