Good info, thanks ! The cargo shelf is something that the kargo_cult will have to look into. I am pretty much a "why drive when you can walk" guy,
but sometimes I have had to drive 1 mile to the Post Office to collect a parcel that won't fit in my day pack. I don't care if I look like a survivalist
walking around with an Army pack on.
My lady friend ( girlfriend sounds too adolescent ), a recent acquisition, tells me I am "thin". I definitely buck the American trends. I thought maybe
I'd start drinking Soylent ( NOT Soylent Green ! ), which is around 300 calories per bottle. We'll see if that works. My Tanita scale sez 2% body fat
and I am NOT a super athlete. The lady is not at all into radios, which I think is for the best.
Thanks to all for the replies on my question !

>Also, there are two sizes of ALICE Pack. Medium (shown in the photo) and Large which has three smaller pockets above the three larger pockets (the one I personally own). The Medium can be used with or without the frame and I did so for many years.
There is also a cargo shelf that attaches to the bottom of the frame when needed to carry bulky, rigid items such as a case of MREs or an older, larger man-pack radio.
