[Milsurplus] When You Can't Get an IF Can

Hi Dave,
How about an RFC in the plate cct
(replacing the primary)
and a coupling capacitor across the top?
Or alternatively,
swap primary for secondary,
and put the RFC where the secondary is.
This will make the primary tunable to a peak (good Q)
and as the secondary is usually loaded by the diode in V4
it has a low Q anyway
and thus is broad as a barn
and not much gain to be had.
Maybe no need for a resonator,
as the radio is probably broad
and on 3885
and short range anyway.
Regards
Ray
