[Milsurplus] replacing black oxide screws /with/ blackened zinc plated screws

I have several of the Brownells bluing/blackening products here that I
have used for this purpose, Hutch.  One or more may work on one and not
on another, depending on the plating process and material.

I wouldn't try just bluing the heads - there may be interactions with
the aluminum panel that you won't appreciate.  Just throw the entire
screw(s) into a jar with one of the chemicals and see how it works.  I
also got a product from Caswell Plating that does a good job on _some_
stainless screws, but again, there are a number of different kinds of
stainless steels, and it isn't a cover-all. You might want to consider
just getting new factory blackened screws from McMaster-Carr.  It's what
I do if I want to make complete makeover of a set.
