I was putting away things tonight including some LEDs when it occurred to me, I just

have to try this. The GRC-9 lamp is bayonet socket. You can buy an LED bulb in similar

size but screw base. If you take needle pliers and bend the top tab of the bayonet holder,

that tab just above the two nibs on the bayonet bulb, bend this tab ever so slightly in,

the LED bulb can force fit into the socket, even without using its threads.

If you have a bayonet socket in open air, you can bend one of the top "lips" in slightly.
