Use a soldering iron (if soldered)
Use a fine hacksaw if welded.
Then solder them back together.
Place them in a de-humidifier (silica-gel jar)
if possible before re-sealing.

There is a brief description of crystal manufacture in 1968
here....

it describes how they plated the crystals at that time,
which is not really suitable for home operation.
