Mike, I'm taking the opportunity to forward this to whole group, for possible greater interest.
The coils I have are C-381 thru C-385. I do not understand the difference between these and the coils numbered like C-271 that I saw in
an online SCR-183 manual. The coils I have are all in the C-38* series.
On one of the cardboard boxes, for a coil C-384, I see a stamp reading:
CALIBRATED WITH BCAR 430 TRANSMITTER SERIAL No. 5083

Hue, it can make a difference on precisely what coils you have and the specific sets in which they will work. There are no BC-230 or BC-430 units, but rather BC-Ax-230 and BC-Ax-430 units. If you have only the C-xyz coil numbers, I can tell you which SCR-Ax-183 or -283 sets a particular coil number may be used. In practice, transmitter coil sets were serialized to their specific transmitter.
