[Milsurplus] 80 meter hambrew conversion receiver

So I resumed rooting thru my long neglected storage to start whittling it down.
There was this receiver which came home with me to die. I mean, as in disassemble.
The concept and construction is rather strange. To the right side you can see it incorporates an RU-19
receiver and the tuning thumbwheel from the BC-375 tuning units. With the cabinet on, there was no
way to change the coil, which was I think coil G, for 80 meters, so this was a single band 80 meter receiver.
Why someone went thru all the trouble to build a super 80 meter receiver is beyond me. You may be saying
"try to save it", but...I already gave away or tossed the cabinet, and the 80 meters coil is sought by ( the few )
people restoring RU-GF systems. Kind of a shame, huh ? But it's not really the overall appearance that brings
a fascinated expression to your face.
