I restored a TekRad 350 ten ? years ago and had it on the air for a few
years and then sold it to a ham in Texas. Unfortunately I do not know who
it was. This unit came out of the Philadelphia Navy Yard. I believe that
they were a replacement for the Marconi transmitters that could fit 2 of
them in the back of a military truck - the reason for the non-standard
width. Quite a workhorse - could run all day without working up a sweat.
I had written up a restoration article for Ray at Electric radio. He
misplaced the article before it was published and my pc crashed and I could
never recover it. The buyer called Allied Van Lines to ship it to him.
They showed up in a big rig - wrapped it in blankets like a fridge -
wheeled it on the truck - all 600 pounds and it arrived in TX without a
scratch!
