And this is that rare occasion where the consensus is actually correct.  See SHIPS 242A.  GF-11/RU-16 was bought for USMC.  At least some of them went into the M2 Halftrack  configured as the M2 Tank Destroyer (Gun Motor Carriage 75MM) when USA gave them to USMC after they were replaced by the M18 TD.  Several years ago, I supplied and helped install one in what is thought to be the sole surviving example.
