Looking at the December 2019 issue of the 'Surplus Radio Bulletin' ( I assume this means military surplus radios and not surplus radio bulletins ) of the 'Surplus Radio Society',
Netherlands, and going by some Dutch words approximately similar to Deutsch, i read about a "test carried out over some distance" using a BC-611 on 40 meters. Apparently
the BC-611 was set up with different crystals for receive and transmit freqs, 7073 kHz transmit and 7070 receive, using BC-659 crystals. No further details. I would think with
the antenna quite a bit more efficient here than on 3885, range would be substantially better ? But here, "the" frequency for low power AM operations is 3885. I prefer to
leave mine working in the original frequency range.
