[Milsurplus] Unknown Transceiver

I owned a BC-9 many many years ago but considering it impractical to use, 
I sold it. I learned later it can in fact be used, but still not my cup of tea.
The antenna connectors look just as I remember them. I see Mike's point
about the more acute angle of the antenna socket. However I am guessing
the width of the case back plate does not allow antenna sockets at a wider
angle and still have the length of each necessary to support the antenna.
Perhaps the antenna elements' ends where it enters the radio, these antenna 
elements have a downward bend near the end? Or am I off base?
