According to the Navy Type Number Book, NAVSHIPS 900,109 (September 1945):

CGQ-43060    TBX-8  (4/27/44)  (Garod)
CG -43060-A  TBX-7  (9/14/44)  (General Electric) 
-> Same as -43060 except for type of meter multiplier resistors.

I remember a humorous letter sent to CQ MAG more than 60 years ago which stated according the military's JAN nomenclature system, the TBX-* was a Ground Transportable Pidgeon Used for Identification Friend or Foe.  (Back then, B in the second position meant the associated system pertained to carrier pidgeon communications.)
