With the China government embargo on export of military radios of ANY vintage, if this set needs a
Chinese specific tube type, you are out of luck. Roger wrote on antiqueradios.com about the weight of
the thing. It looks to me like it harkens back to a WW2 - like radio: a big, heavy way to generate a
modest CW power.
Geoff Fors has a photo of an alley in China full of scattered crates of 7512 receivers, crates from still
packed to crates broken open to the weather. He told me that Chinese mostly don't much regard the
recent "obsolete" technology item. Ming vase, yes. 19xx radio, trash.
But I don't get the logic of why no export of old military radios. Odd logic; it seems otherwise they want
all the money they can get from us. I wanted just the canvas for a No. 81 radio set, but I blew my chance
and didn't jump when it was offered on Ebay, years back. Now, nada.
