That was interesting... near the bottom of the page was a description of a radio I thought I'd never see anything about:"Shown below is an older transmitter, which was primarily vacuum tube and dates from about 1958-1959.  It is an upgrade of the earlier "Handie Micro Talkie" shown earlier on these pages.  Few were made."

It happens that once upon a time, long ago in a galaxy far away, I was given a pair of those. All that remains are the leather cases, the metal radio shells with antennas and the mics. If anyone wants them, the metal case paint is nearly pristine.

I knew this website from the past, but didn't think to look there. YES, that's exactly it, and it shows the Motorola transmitter-only thing I have also. -Hue     From: Bob kb8tq <kb8tq at n1k.org>

The one I had was similar to (but not the same as) a FHTRU-1 . The one you are looking for is probably a  FPTR-1 (or one of it’s derivatives)  . All of them were more commonly known by names as opposed to model numbers..     A page with some pictures on it:    http://www.wb6nvh.com/Moto42/M42Page2.htm    Bob    ______________________________________________________________
