I wrote about this several years ago. Have used them both transmit and receive in a forest service radio, in a Western Electric marine radio, in a BC-669, in a Canadian Marconi transceiver, in ARC-5 and SCR-522 VHF. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8pcuRNzzin6z469w7https://photos.app.goo.gl/rJdDgBoJUFBrmA6s9Also use them in freq converters. Some have been just pipe the signal into the crystal jack, and some have required a little more effort. All of them worked. Noise, Jitter and harmonics have never been the slightest issue.I prefer real crystals, too. But spending five or six hundred dollars to crystal-up a mil-radio is irresponsible and crazy.73 Dave AB5S------ Original message------From: Hubert MillerDate: Thu, Sep 19, 2019 10:34 PMTo: List Milsurplus;Cc: Subject:Re: [Milsurplus] Real crystals vs programmed chipsQuestion: will these chips replace crystals in receiver HFO position ? I ask because some ham radio sets require additional, not originally supplied
crystals to cover all of 10 meters, and then also to add SW broadcast bands. The HFO does have an LC circuit, so there will be waveshape
restoration, if that is required. I am mostly wondering, I suppose, about digital noise.
