Yes but three to five channels at $200 per channel? Few people will put that kind of money in a mil rig. It will sit in the garage until the grandkids throw it away. Better to use the little board and get the rig on the air. It could be done without being destructive. The issue is the fact the rock 'comes on' when the stage becomes active, but you have to modify a rig to supply low volts to the chip, may be necessary to make changes to the oscillator circuit it feeds, turn the PLL chips on to transmit, off to receive or you get a carrier. Unmodified radio life is a lot easier with a rock.
