The article at the link states
"In field tests it gives practically the same results as the SCR-195, but the American set is simpler and of a more advanced design*.
* This opinion may be biased."
I would say, this opinion is technically uninformed. The SCR-195 is a two - tube, superregen circuit, same as a National Radio product from 1934, with all the wide channel separation
required by a superregen circuit, which is around 200 - 400 kHz. And the frequency instability affected by operator proximity to the antenna.
The data section below in the article rates sensitivity and selectivity as "excellent". This for a radio with no RF stage before mixer, and a high IF. In effect, like an early CB distinguished
mostly for quality of construction and compact size, not performance. That kind of poorly informed evaluation I think is probably derived from the original U.S. 'E.E.I.S.' hasty and often
faulty evaluations which were done from minimal inspection. 'E.E.I.S.' = 'Enemy Equipment Intelligence Service', often seen painted on bring-back equipment.
