There was also another model, I think ' -a ', which tunes 24 – 25 MHz.
I think the nontrivial challenge to modifying the freq range is the single osc changes between rec and trans circuits, and adds parallel inductance to tune down for receive.
CQ maybe 15 – 20 years ago had an article on this set, one of a series called, I think, 'Technical Excellence from the Past'. Had good photos and an explanation of how the
rec – trans changeover was effected.
It has been a long long time since I bought any German manual reprints, but it was available, and still should be.
Be prepared for an underwhelming technical experience looking at the manual. Very anemic. Less data than found in say, a Hallicrafters Sky Buddy receiver manual.
Oh yeah, also a small photo in Feb. 1944 'Radio News', which inappropriately seems to compare it to the BC-611.
