When warmed up/hot they drift very little if any.

So how that system operate?
they walked around and tuned each receiver to a frequency of interest, then listed to them a the "switch board" ?
Must have been fun to keep all those drifty radios on frequency!

Nameplates read, by magnifier glass:
TYPE SSR-202
RADIO RECEVER
SERIAL 20-8
INPUT 115 VOLTS
60 CYCLES 100 WATTS
SERIAL 20-8……..GAIN………TYPE MC-2 SIDEBAND SELECTOR……………CW
………………………………………LOWER…………………UPPER…………………………….
……………………..MADE BY J L A McLAUGHLIN LA JOLLA CALIF U.S.A. ………
Notes:
1.Numbers ar 'best guesses'. Looks to me like the second digit of serial is fixed and the first number changes. Looks to me like numbers increment left to right rear row,
the resume left front row to right. .
2. I would have expected the MC-2 nameplate to read something like "MFGD BY J L A….etc." but it sure looks to me like instead it reads "MADE BY…."
3. I cannot see if dots between the J, L, and A and U, S, and A letters, but I am taking an educated guess by the year and particular maker name.
Yes, maybe this was a McLaughlin product for the government, not supplied directly by Hallicrafters ?
