[Milsurplus] radios in Midway 2019

Guys,

I saw an email in mid-2018 where the Midway Production Company was looking to borrow a Zenith Bomber portable radio for the filming in Hawaii.  I forwarded to my neighbor John K4JCR and he kindly loaned his nice working example to them.  The production company was very professional, paying all FEDEX packing and shipping charges both ways and when they returned his radio they included a check for $150 and a couple of days later sent John a 2nd Zenith Bomber portable (also in super nice shape) that they had also purchased for the filming.

I think it was for a scene where Admiral Kimmel (or some other high-ranking officer) hears about the Pearl Harbor attack on the radio while at home in the hills above Pearl Harbor… I’m looking forward to seeing the movie and checking out all the radios!
