"Yeah, but....", it passes some - a minority - of the exact same FT-241 family.
What I'm going to do is, sort aside ones with "good frequencies" for further study.
The schematics for crystal testers I have seen, are not that difficult, but with my priorities, I just cannot justify spending any hours whipping one up, I have to keep moving
with Job #1. And Job # N+1....

Hi Hue - I obviously don't know what's going on here, but the crystals in those FT-241 holders (or any other) have a specified operating load requirement and any "tester" looks like a certain complex impedance to the crystal under test. If they are not matched adequately you may be getting false "fails" as a consequence. (corroded connections etc. not withstanding...) Just a thought..
