I think Kurt may have been referring to the R-390 and later, cost-reduced A
model. There are indeed electrical and physical (ooof) differences.

You are correct that the /URR suffix is the official designator beyond the
Hammarlund/EAC civilian versions sold in the late 60s/early 70s. One thing
that never existed is the "R-390 non-A". That designation is a product of
misinformation over recent decades.

Another FWIW - as of a few years ago, the NSA still had at least one SP-600
tucked away in their vaults with some swapped out Dakaware knobs.....
