[Milsurplus] Designations

Ok, there is no such thing as a US Military “R-390A”. There may have been a
commercial designation, maybe the EAC units offered for general sale? I
don’t know about non-military.
But “R-390A” is not a valid military nomenclature. Yes it is commonly used
and everyone knows what you mean by it but only
R-390A/URR is official.
FWIW, NSA has their own nomenclature system.
