[Milsurplus] R1451A/WLR-6 - One More Time

Hi Bill –

As far as I recall there were no diodes. I believe two of the receiver front ends I blew up myself. For me the problem happened when I tried to run the receivers off of house AC. My thoughts at the time was that there was too much leakage current through the PS. I had too many other projects going on simultaneously to pursue just this. However, while I had a few working I was impressed and loved the smoothness of the tuning. – 73 – Mike

Hi,

Do they have the pair of protective diodes across the receiver input? I have had those do their duty protecting the front end by puncturing the junction and shorting the input to ground. It is cheaper and easier to replace the fried diodes that to repair or replace the front end of the receiver. Have a look there when you find the schematics. Maybe you can sort that out without the schematics. I found them on one radio without looking at the schematics. They will be the very first the signal sees when it gets to the receiver.
