I was wrong (again.) Battle of the Bulge began two days later, 16 December
1944. But the link might still be of use.

Hue:
FWIW: The Battle of the Bulge (a/k/a Battle of the Ardennes Forest)
began in the pre-dawn hours of 14 December 1945. Also, I found this link
https://wartimememoriesproject.com/ww2/pow/powcamp.php?pid=3111 to Oflag
9A/Z. Maybe there's a connection there?

While I am cleaning up paper, triaging, I found this little piece of a
cardboard box cut from apparently a French shoe box.
On it, in pencil, kind of hard to read:
"Was cot prisona in Dec 14 - 1944 sent to a Janny hospittle at givestin and
it was on crx even they bon it I was in it
300 popple die in the raid I was then sent a hospilte in Starlooch I stayed
thear 2 month and then was sent to 9A
Prizin camp wear we stayed"
Also has this:
" 01237067
O8J9K10
(2) "
The top number is too short to be an Army RA number.
Hard to know what to do with such a stray item. I should probably find some
kind of museum to donate it to; they
could show it with the above text nearby, maybe?
