Let me throw in a dictionary, Merriam-Webster:


    Definition of /mulatto/

1 now sometimes offensive *: *the first-generation offspring of a black 
person and a white person
2 now sometimes offensive *: *a person of mixed white and black ancestry

Indeed, sometimes offensive. Please refrain from this sort of language. 
Possibly politics as well, to keep it friendly around here...
