Hello, Paul. As with the ARC-5/ T-15, -16 and-17, no direct documentation as to its purpose has surfaced. We have a lot of speculation, but some more informed than others, some merely opinion, and we have a few apocryphal stories which sound kind of wild, but I'm not about to call a World War II veteran a liar. It's much more likely his memory is just challenged a bit.I have my personal opinions based upon the communications capabilities of third-world and tertiary Powers with which the Allies had to deal during World War II, but that's all it is is speculation. If anyone ever comes up with some hard evidence it would be great to see but I don't think that's going to happen unless someone hits the lottery and can spend six months in the archives.
