Al, Your photo titled "Sensors" answers the question about temperature and 
humidity.  Thanks for posting.  I had thought about a bi-metallic sensor for 
temperature but the humidity one had me stumped.  Apparently a hair under 
tension can stretch or shrink enough to move its stylus.  That one must have 
been a doozy to calibrate!
