[Milsurplus] R-14 headset receivers question

Got hold of a couple of R-14s for a receiverless headband I had.  My question is whether the cap on R-14 should unscrew or were some or all of them either cemented or press-fits?  Haven't been able to unscrew these & don't want to try too hard before finding out if, in fact, some don't come open.
