To all,
I have a few of subject receivers remaining, all are in as removed from
aircraft condition. One of the lot has been checked and is operational,
with a bit of cleaning required on the band switches/controls. The
dynamotor was serviced in accord with 120 hour inspection in the manual.
It has been discussed in this forum that the radios are now classified DEMIL
D, hence any remaining in govt custody will be destroyed if found in their
warehouses, and then only if the govt decides to get them off inventory.
I have a number of as removed and NEW mounts for the radios.
I don't care what you paid for one back in 1961, unless of course you want
to purchase one that I have secured from a remote warehouse and provide an
even trade in Gold, which back then was around $40 per ounce; so the $125
radio back then is about three ounces of gold. today.
Cost of the radios is $650 for the known operational unit, with marks
indicating the last P3A it was installed in. $550 for the next one off the
Stack.
Mounts are $175 in as removed condition, and $250 for New.
As a matter of interest, the R648/ARR41 is still on the active listing of
National Stock Numbers, at a value in excess of $14,000. That is what any
govt entity will be charged should a radio be ordered from DLA stock.
Cheers All.
