Yes. Definitely. Have you checked on prices for new transformers? They are astronomical.

Works perfectly for most semi-modern SSB transceivers, like the Heathkit SB/HW series 
and for the Collins KWM series. Heathkits work "best" with about 820 VDC to the finals, a 
pair of 6146s.

Not so. Read ER Magazine. Construction articles on transmitters in almost every issue of 
late.
