[Milsurplus] More thoughts on PAR 30-A

Tim, at first I thought PAR had retained the roller coil at the lower right crank knob. But I didn't see a channel knob.
Then it dawned on me there is really no appliance operator type need for any antenna loading coil *, you just want
channel and volume controls, and that PAR had repurposed the loading coil knob crank as kind of a pointer for the channel.
( *Some boat radios had a front panel switch with very few positions for "peaking up" the antenna current, seeing the level
indicated by a panel light bulb. )
This summer when I'm back up in WA I'll get some photos of the other PAR set I have that uses mil-surplus parts.

>Interesting set Hue - Clearly some genes from the SCR-284...If the transnitter was crystal controlled (likely for a marine-band vessel setup) it would greatly simplify the transmitter chassis design.
