Looks like a Collins answer to the General Dynamics AN\GRC-106, but it’s just a receiver.

I believe I own the only known example of the R-864(XC1)/URR. I found it about 30 years ago at Dayton. It came with a photocopy of the manual with many hand written corrections and notes.

Some images that I supplied can be found at http://www.roveroresearch.info/home/boatanchor-radios/r392/solid-state-son-of-r-392

You can also check page 110 of the current edition of Shortwave Receivers Past & Present by Fred Osterman. Some of the specs in the Osterman book are not correct however. They should be listed as:

All Solid State
Range: 1-28.999 MHz in 1 MHz Bands
Modes: AM, SSB, FSK and CW
Superhetrodyne Triple Conversion below 7 MHz, Double Conversion 7 MHz and above
Power Source: 28 VDC
Bandwidths: 8, 4, 2, 1.5 Khz
Odometer type readout to 200 Hz
Antenna Trimmer, RF Gain, AF Gain, BFO, AGC Switch, Noise Limiter Switch, Squelch, Calibrator, S/Line Meter
455 Khz IF output
Dimensions: 20 x 7.25 x 12
