[Milsurplus] China PLA 63 Set

I thought I'd read on one of the groups about someone who had a battery box for the TRC-77.
Is that right, anyone recall ? If real, I wonder how that turned out. How good, realistic did it look ?
What occasioned this thinking is that I recently found my China 63 Set. This is a PRC-10 sized set
but with AM, CW mode 1.5 - 6 MHz. Battery box section is missing ! No schematics, of course.
I popped it open, hoping to see what kind of submini tubes it uses, but it is entirely modular, no
tubes to be seen. Strikes me that the build quality of this radio is actually way superior to that in the
102E ( or whatever it was ) equivalent to the GRC-9. The 63 Set was a Vietnam era radio.
I don't know whether to involve myself in another drawn-out, involved project in getting a batt box
made, try to figure out and use the radio itself without this, or to give up this whole project and
devote my limited time to a few projects I'm really wild about.
