[Milsurplus] Unknown trimmer caps

I found a box with quite a number of unused trimmer capacitors. These were from the estate of the owner of a
1950s surplus store in Seattle. So I'm assuming these were used in construction of some WW2 era receiver or
transmitter, but which? Do you recognize this type trimmer from any equipment you have seen? Would have to
be something of pretty good size chassis to have a bunch of these.
