Looks like we are about six weeks out from the MRCA event at Gilbert/Red Ball.
Anyone have any plans beyond what's on the web page? ( http://www.mrca.ar88.net/Fall_Meet/fall_meet.html ) I am just in the process of putting in for the time off work and was thinking that maybe this year I will try to arrive on site on Wednesday and be there a full day Thursday and Friday along with departing mid-day Saturday. Somehow recall that by the late afternoon Saturday last year everyone disappeared so looks to me that Friday is the big day to be there?
Think I have arrived on site late Thursday before but somehow am always told that a lot occurs on Thursday with the flea market and try to make Thursday a full day by arriving late Wednesday.
If nothing else can work M&S Net from site on Thursday.
I plan on dragging out the M151 with the GRC-106 again and operating that for HF and VHF and will bring an assortment of smaller radios like a URC-110 or 200 for VHF or maybe something like a Russian R-107 for 51.0 along with all the rest of the stuff. Had also thought of dragging out a display and little playback computer and letting that run a bunch of Signal Corps films in the Howell build if there is any interest?
Is there anything that anyone would like to see such as maybe the FR-38 in action as the world's biggest and heaviest digital counter? Or any of the other strange things that I have been playing around with? Maybe more on the GRC-106 like how to strip down the amplifier and put it back together? Both of those last ideas involve dragging out huge heavy things like the FR-38 or the huge power supply for the 106 but do have time to plan.
What's everyone else thinking? What days are you planning to be there?
