Finally getting around to making up the wire harness from the ARC-58 receiver/exciter to the control unit.  Found the connectors and wire on eBay for not much money so I have run out of excuses to put the task off.  1000 foot roll of white 22 AWG rubber insulated wire, 19 strands, 1kv rated for under $30 including shipping, what a deal!
I see from the cabling diagram that the frequency control lines between the receiver/exciter and control unit are shielded.  Checked my stash of wire and I only have shielded pair cable.  These lines only carry DC so if needed at all, is the wisdom of the group that shielded wire pairs are good enough?  I assume that shielded wires were specified for the noisy aircraft environment.  Since I will make the harness only 10 feet long, do I even need to worry about shielded wire?  The 115 vac 400 cycle modified square wave power will not be present in this harness.Jim
