Have you gotten any thoughts on that? Haven't seen any post via the reflector. There's some google references on chemicals for bonding phenolic.
Assuming it's a hollow coil form, is there enough room to insert a tubular form inside for strength instead of relying on just a glue joint for strength?
If the coil form is also the mechanical support for another element, gluing may never be strong enough. Perhaps look for a similar sized phenolic rod or cylinder and make a new copy of it? Might be able to do it with other materials besides phenolic. There's some odd phenolic material at my local surplus store so maybe I can find something if you want to try making a replacement, or try Ebay for raw materials.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Gluing Phenolic - advice?
I have a 40 meter trap which goes in my antenna here. The coil is wound on a large
phenolic cylinder, which is over an inch in diameter and the walls are almost 1/2" thick.
The last time the darned tree-rats dropped my antenna, the phenolic cylinder broke.
I want to glue it solidly, but despite having tried Epoxy, that didn't hold.
Anyone know of a better glue for phenolic?
