In this discussion of P2V Neptunes (I prefer the pre-1962 designations)
and AN/ARC-38s, I have two questions(among many).

First, was a CW key provided for the radio operator, and if so, what
type? I have the
ARC-38 up and running, and am about halfway finished integrating it with
the R-648.

Although it may not be historically accurate, I am tying it all together
with an AN/AIC-10
interphone system, with provision for an AN/ARC-55 and AN/ARN-6.

Second, what was the antenna system for the ARR-41? Was a separate antenna
provided, or was there some kind of switching system to use the same
antenna as
the ARC-38? If a separate antenna was used, was there any concern for
front end
overload of the receiver, or is the R-648 design robust enough to handle
it? Or
did they ground the receiver input during transmission of the R-648?
