At the PSARA open swap meet, August 19 in Seattle, we saw an RCA SSB-1. If I recall, it was on casters. After some dickering, the price was
rolled back to zero, but there were no takers. I heard the seller say it weighed around 160 lbs. and that concluded the issue for me. It appeared
to be in very good condition.
I had a two-deck Northern Radio set for sale at $25-30, no takers and few lookers even. I think I'll offer it at Rickreall in October and if it doesn't
go, I think I'll just keep the 0.5 - 18 MHz tunable receiver section. This is a 1950s boat radio but I liked that the receiver has a hole plug for the
BFO option, which could be added now. The transmitter deck has 2x 807 modulated by same, and the iron to do that, plus a dynamotor, so this
is one heavy guy. I have a 4 inch gouge in my leg where the beast gored me when I was moving it and it still hurts.
