Sorry, but GPS can be jammed and disabled by solar storms, etc etc. It's always nice to have a backup, but maybe commercialize it? Sell commercials?

Notice that WWVL on 60 khz is not proposed for deletion. It provides time signals in a digital mode for all those "world's most accuate watch, clock, display, etc"   Oregon Scientific would go bankrupt

Since GPS provides a much more 

accurate source for Time and 

Frequency signals, I personally think 

it is time to retire this relic of the 

"Olde Dayes".
