Mike, why not try to verify those oil caps are bad before putting a shorter-lived replacement part in for them ?
The black stuff is undoubtedly transformer potting.

I will soon enough be doing the same testing. I have an LM with ACPS I want to sell, but darnit, I can't find where
I hid the interconnect cable.
