[Milsurplus] A Cure for "The Silence of the Bands"

I've been following this thread another place to look for motivated
communications tinkers is the FTA (free to air) community. They setup KU
and C band dishes to receive in the clear TV programming. I equate it to
Shortwave for your TV.
I know me personally I'm interested in all things radio communications
related. I came from CB radio at the 15 and I was a "dreaded no coder" who
has no problem getting his hands dirty.

The only practical pitch for fledgling members is
the encouragement to build your own...

Respectfully, Millennials (as a group) do not get
their hands dirty building anything, much less
radios. Except maybe Japanese cosplay.
They can barely wipe their own bottoms without
a session with the counselor in a "safe space."
CB is a shadow of what it was in the 70s- that's true.
It's also the only recruiting ground of people who
have proven they have an interest and will do more
than just run their yaps about what they are "going to do."
The CB "field" may have a lot of weeds, but it's
the only harvestable "crop" available to us.
